Fane of Tiamat - Part 1

After being teleported to the outskirts of Vraath Keep, we started to look for a path or trail that could have been used by the red hand agents.

From searching the surroundings we finally found and got on the path that led us towards the Fane of Tiamat. And after some minor bumps in the road (read manticores, ogres and some other filthy trolls) we made it all the way to the thin bridge leading over to the double door entrance.

This was the first test. We spotted 2 large dragons in a opening some 100 feet above the double door entrance to the Fane. One blue and one red. After some discussions and planning we decided to try to fool them out one at a time so we had the monk of the group go forward on his own with us hiding prepared for battle just around a corner.

A big bloody fight errupted and we were stood strongest, a lucky in the end with no casualties. Both dragons that protected the entrance were slayed and we captured their treasures and had a feasty meal on the meat.

The entrance to the Fane was looking very threatening with its 5 dragon heads staring down at the ground just infront of the double doors. Pretty sure it was booby trapped, we decided to use our knowledge and wisdom and commune with out gods to see if there were any other way of entrance to the Fane. No luck there, so guessing our only option was to brute force the code we decided to do so. After numerous attempts and some very lucky guesses from our team we finally got in!

The next few minutes were going to prove fatal for our group, with us charging inside the Fane to use any sort of initiative advantage we had after opening the great double doors that led inside the Fane. Erythion and Morbald charged ahead with the rest of the group tightly coupled behind.

Demons and undead monsters filled the first room we arrived in. And if that wasnt enough, we got overrun by invisible spawns as well. The initial assault on the Fane ended with both Erythion and Morbald dead, and the rest of us fleeing head to toe out of the foayer with the bitter taste of death and defeat in our mouths...
